One of the benefits to living in Des Moines, is that you can take advantage of the half price tickets to get into the fair after 5. This is perfect if you have a little one. The weather is cooler, and we saw and ate all we wanted to in the 3.5 hours we were there.
Ruby's favorites:
the cows
the building with all the baby animals (whoever came up with this concept was a genius - it was probably my favorite too! Most of the baby animals were born today!)
playing in the grass and climbing the cement to peek at the baby goats (we were held up an hour when trying to go see the baby animals, due to the secret service and President Obama's arrival - we saw the bus, but didn't fight the crowds to see him)
dancing during HairBall - we are doing our best to raise her right. This is her second HairBall concert. :)
the corndog and kettlecorn
Mom and Dad's favorite:
again, baby animal building... if you go to the fair, check it out.
craft beer tent. good Iowa beer rather than Bud Light. hooray!
It was a good evening and am fairly certain we put a tired little girl to bed.
Side note: for those of you who have wondered about the lack of blog entries during the past three months. I was under the impression that we were over our limit for data on the blog. So I stopped. I was misinformed... so the blog is back. Though we may not be able to load video in the future. Over the next week or two, I am going to put some entries in about the past few months. That way some day Ruby doesn't look back and feel like part of her life was missing. ;)
