Ruby walking
She started a few weeks ago, but it was hard to catch on camera. She always got distracted by the video camera/phone. :) Anyway, today was the first day that I would say she walked just as much as she crawled/scooted. Lots of practicing. By Easter, she should be chasing after her cousin Noah!

13 months!
Wow, what a spring! We have now had 7 days of 70-80 degree weather and boy, are we loving it. Ruby loves being outside, and being much more mobile than last fall, she is more able to explore. She loves climbing the steps, climbing into the flower beds, cruising between tables and chairs on the front porch, and trying out the slide (we've already taken a couple trips to the park). Today she helped me dig up lilies in the back yard. Only ate one handful of dirt (I think) and luckily, I stopped her before she ate the earthworm that I gave her to play with. :) Just bought a new grill, and we are in the process of making her a sandbox and getting a slide for her. Expecting lots of time on the back patio during the next few months. The other thing we are loving about the warm weather is not having to bundle them. Ruby has always loved to be naked, and it's nice to let her be. We traveled to the Wagner's this weekend, and it made packing a little lighter without all the extra layers. Ruby loved going in and out, on to their 3 seasons porch and enjoyed a St. Patty's Day walk through the Amanas. We hope this weather is here to stay!

First Steps!
Ruby took her first steps yesterday. I was at work and Steve said she took a couple steps multiple times. Sad I missed it, but I got a show today instead. This time she would pull herself up from squating, stabilize herself and then try to walk. Most of the time just a step or two, but once she managed five or six. She was pretty persistant. Weird to think our baby is big enough to be walking! Other new trick: opening her mouth wide and sticking her tongue all the way out and down her chin - who knows where she got it from!
