Ruby's modeling debut...

Let's just say there is a reason the Gerber baby makes the big bucks!  Steve's friend, Brian Duffey, came over today to take some pictures of our baby girl.  All that he asked of us was to have her asleep...  well, similar to when we encourage sleep at night time, Ruby prevailed once again.  He was here for 3 hours.  The room was prewarmed, she had a full belly, and no flashes were used and  yet still she slept for 10 minutes of that time!   Regardless, here are a few of the great ones he took.  The crossed eyed one shows why newborns should be sleeping for their photo shoots! :)

Also, Papa and Babcha Wagner were here today.  Babcha kept us well fed for the week - thank you Helen - and both got some cuddle time with Ruby (of course, that is when she chose to sleep!).  We've got quite the girl on our hands... good thing we love her so much.

Our tiny girl at bath time

First bath at home last night.  She didn't love it, but she did love getting attacked by her shark towel when it was all over and done with.

In addition, had a doctor's appointment today, and we are working on making our girl "not so tiny".  7lb 4oz at birth. 6lb 10oz on Monday when we came home from the hospital.  Two days later at follow up appointment she weighed a whopping...... (drumroll, please)  7 lbs!  That is 8 ounces in 2 days!  You wouldn't guess it by looking at her, but we will keep at it.  In true 'Ruby style', when they took her diaper off to get an accurate weight she peed all over the weigh table.  We've got a girl with some attitude. :)

The first weekend at the hospital

It was a long but exciting weekend.  Ruby and her parents got experience many firsts.  All of the staff at the hospital were great and helped us tremendously.  Here are a few pictures of our time at the hospital.

We survived the first night

Ruby was fussy for awhile, she fed well at 9, 11 and 1 am but wouldn't really go down to sleep, she was really wide awake around midnight which wasn't a welcomed sign. ??Don't get me wrong she looked adorable but our energy levels were starting to drop and we hit a "oh crap" point when we thought we'd be up all night. ??Then Ruby surprised us with a 4 hour nap followed by a 3 hour nap and all of the sudden it was 8 am and everyone was happy!

We'll be posted a bunch of pictures today on the blog but if you want to have something to hold yourself over please go to this site and you can see some pictures taken at the hospital by a professional photographer. ??They are very expensive to buy so might just be better to look and then print off your own from the rest we'll post later, up to you!

password is camerona

I will warn you.....she looks like the??cutest??thing in the world and it may be hard not to part with your money.??

Weekly dr's visit update

Dsc_0016

So we saw the doctor this morning and we found out that we haven't progressed much and we'll be induced sometime next week if things don't happen naturally.  We welcome any prayers that she comes sooner than later.
