The beauty of having two sets of grandparents is that you get to celebrate holidays twice a lot of the time. This year for Easter Ruby's great grandma and much of her family from the Reicks side is gathering at Grandpa and Grammy Reicks'. So we took the opportunity this weekend to celebrate with Papa, Babcha and Uncle Erik.
We had a pretty full weekend. Ruby helped Babcha and Mommy make Easter Bastiche (spelling??), a Wagner tradition. In fact, Ruby checked out the ingrediants for a bit and then took a nap while all the work was underway. Then woke up just in time to help put the final crust on and watch them bake.
Then we dyed Easter Eggs. In fact, Ruby instead dyed her hand (and shirt and pants) orange and then got set up with some cups of plain ol' H20. While Babcha and Mommy finished off the eggs.
Ruby got spoiled will all sorts of goodies.... a Dutch Baby, Apple Cobbler, pancakes, blueberries, strawberry short cake, meatballs and pasta. If she is still in the 10th percentile when we go back to the doctor in May, I will be amazed!
Sunday morning, we put Ruby in her Easter dress and did a egg search practice run. Now she'll be all ready for next weekend. As you can see in the pictures, she had lots of help. She especially liked the running around outside part and later enjoyed the eating the insides part. The picking up the eggs part, she could take or leave.
Anyway, we had a really nice time. Enjoy the pics!
